Ladies Section – Captains Welcome
Welcome to the Ladies’ Section of the Club’s Website
The Ladies’ regular roll-up and competitions are on Wednesday mornings at 9am. Some members play in a roll-up on Monday and Friday mornings at 9.30am. All lady members are welcome to come and join in. A number of lady members play with the men in the competitions organised by the TOFFS (for those over fifty fives) held on the second Monday of each month and with the Seventy Niners (79ers), who play 9 holes, held on the last Thursday of each month.
We organise a programme of competitions throughout the year. To play in a competition you must have a handicap and must sign in online on HowDidIDo.com before playing. All queries relating to handicaps and HowDidIDo should be directed to Liz Evans, Handicap Secretary. firstname.lastname@example.org
Our fixture list includes many friendly matches against other Oxfordshire clubs. The sign-up lists are posted in the Ladies’ Changing Room. All members with a handicap are welcome to sign up to play in the matches.
Each year the men’s and ladies’ captains are invited to name a chosen charity each for the club to support throughout the year. This year the men will be supporting the Alzheimer’s Society and the ladies supporting The Nasio Trust. www.thenasiotrust.org
The Nasio Trust is an Abingdon-based charity that supports communities in Western Kenya to break the cycle of poverty by providing education, improving health and developing commerce. Of specific interest is a current project to raise £10,000 to build the very first library in the grounds of a school.
We have a great Charity Day in the summer when guests can be invited to play and I also hope to organise some other events to raise more charity funds.
